Sandals and Socks

So we use to laugh at ourselves for doing this, but it's now a trend and no longer a fashion don't. Don't believe me? Check these out:

Happy Easter

So besides bunnies and chocolate easter eggs, Easter screams spring is near! And despite the chilly weather still in Toronto, there's some really adorable pastel outfits for Easter. Have a look:

Toronto Fashion Week

Dare to wear runway fashion show happened last week and featured some really floral, African themed prints on the runway. The annual runway show raises money and awareness for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which fights the AIDS pandemic in Africa.

Here are some of the looks that were showcased on the runway in Toronto:

Sweatpants to the office

Yes, so one of the trends are colourful sweatpants that aren't that baggy or the ones you wear to the gym to hide that cellulite... but actually pants made to look chic. Chic enough to even wear to work dare I say...

I've seen these in many shops already, and although I can't pull them off (have a few pounds to lose). They are a trendy new alternative to tailored pants you normally see in the office.

Chequers - Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton had his spring/summer 2013 catwalk a few days back and even the floor was a yellow and white chequer board. The models were also wearing... you've guessed it... CHEQUERS!

So... I don't know about this one. Personally not loving it. But for those who love this pattern and the crazy range of colours, it might be a nice trend this spring/summer. Will it catch on and make it's appearance onto the streets? My personal guess is... not really. Street style seems to be very modern grunge and edgy this season and hasn't really changed from that. I've seen the animal prints and the florals mixed in there but I don't see how anyone will be able to rock chequers.

Here's what Vuitton's collection consisted of:

don't mind this, actually kind of cute

sheer material

very unique, I'll give him that.

Fashion Star

Happy 1st day of Spring 2013 everyone! Although if I had to look outside my window... it looks like Christmas season still out there :(

I'm all ready to get out the cute sandals and dresses I have saved up but I think it's going to take a few days (maybe even weeks) for it to get even warm enough to wear a light sweater and not the heavy coat I have on now (plus a cute scarf).

So not much to share today. I did tune into Fashion Star 2 days ago and found it quite entertaining. I love the concept of the show. I think it's a great way for not only the department stores to get new items but also a good platform for new, fresh talent to show off their creativity. That would be an amazing dream one day to be able to design your own label and showcase it on the runway for all to see. The judging part is a bit anxiety provoking for me but it's a great learning experience nonetheless. I like to act like the buyer when I watch the show and see if my guesses are right in them purchasing the designs or not. It's fun to see if what you like as a fashionista is also what the judges and buyers agree with.

Here are the ones I loved from Monday night's show:

These can be found on Saks Fifth Avenue's website for sale if you're interested in purchasing.

That's what is trending right now. I mean yes denim shirts too but I've seen a lot of skulls! Skulls made from lace, sequins, even spikes. You name it!

I don't mind it, as long as it doesn't make me look like a vampire or some creature of the night. Or someone who is way too early for Halloween this year...

Here are a few that I wouldn't mind wearing. I told you I had an eccentric taste in fashion didn't I?
I just simply love too many things.
